Pocket Network Partners with Kleomedes to Decentralize Cosmos Infrastructure

Pocket Network, a decentralized data platform, has joined forces with staking provider Kleomedes to bring decentralized infrastructure to the Cosmos ecosystem. This collaboration aims to shift Cosmos' reliance from centralized hosting providers to Pocket Network's decentralized relay network, addressing a critical vulnerability in the 'Internet of blockchains.'

Despite its modular design, Cosmos remains heavily dependent on centralized infrastructure. Recent data reveals that two providers—Hetzner Online GmbH and OVH SAS—control nearly 38% of the network's nodes, with Amazon and Google accounting for an additional 15%. This concentration poses systemic risks, including single points of failure that could disrupt dApps across the ecosystem.

The partnership leverages Pocket Network's protocol, which routes blockchain requests through a globally distributed network of full nodes. By decentralizing its infrastructure layer, Cosmos strengthens its alignment with Web3 principles while mitigating operational risks inherent in centralized solutions.
